About
The Authentic Fraternity
The Chi Phi Fraternity is the oldest men’s social fraternity in the United States, founded in 1824 on the principles of Truth, Honor, and Personal Integrity. It exists to provide men with a place of belonging and membership while providing a framework for growth and personal development throughout their collegiate years.
Our Chapter
The local history of our chapter started in 2004 when our founders wanted a different experience from a fraternity. They yearned for something further from a stereotypical “frat,” and for something closer to a genuine brotherhood for like-minded, value-driven men. This drove them to found the local fraternity at UMass Dartmouth, Kappa Epsilon. In 2006, this local fraternity was chartered, or adopted, by the Chi Phi Fraternity as the Lambda Theta chapter.
Although we are approaching 20 years locally and just hit 200 years nationally, our brotherhood is as strong as ever and continues to stand by the big three values of Truth, Honor, and Personal Integrity.
